Notary Service
Notary Publics deals with matters that concern with estates, deeds, power-of-attorney and wills. Our notary publics are authorized by North Carolina law to administer oaths and affirmations, take affidavits and statutory delarations, witness, and authenticate the execution of certain classes of documents, take acknowledgements of deeds and other conveyances.
Our Powers
Our Notary Public Commissioners are not attorneys licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina, and we may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. We are prohibited from using our titles or seals in "manner intended to endorse, promote, denounce, or oppose any product, service, contest, candidate, or other offering" (G.S. 10B-24).
We do not use our office or seals in ways not prescribed in the Notary Act, even if such powers are commonly assumed. By North Carolina law, we are authorized to perform four types of notarial acts:
Acknowledgments
Oaths
Affirmations
Verifications and proof
Immigration Documents
According to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service, our Notary Public Commissioner(s) can help you by filling in the blanks on pre-printed USCIS forms with information you provide or by translating documents. We are required by law to disclose to USCIS the assistance we gave by completing the section at the bottom of a petition or application concerning "us." Again we do not give legal advice on immigration documents. To learn more about how to seek legal advice for your immigration issue(s), please visit USCIS at
